eBay goodness

A red one? For £5,000 (at the time I type)? Hmmm. I’d have to get in touch with Andy Isherwood again to get it down to me, but at that price …

[Update] Now up to £6,100 ..

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I got to Constipation Motors early - too excited to wait - but they didn’t seem phased. In no time I was out with a rather portly salesman (so no real issues about fitting in the car although it’s certainly snug inside).

So much fun it shouldn’t be legal

Off we went to the north for a few miles towards Holt, him driving at first but with me taking over for a meander around the backroads.

“Don’t take the left to the ford.” said Portly Salesman.

Why not? That sounds like fun?

“It’s over three feet deep.”

Discretion won the day.

My overall verdict: Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee! But not in yellow - with the red seats it looks destinctly Noddyish (especially with my blue driving cap, the one with the big bell …)

I’ll have to give this very careful consideration.

After my test I popped in on Tall Andy, Kitten and young Sam. What a sweetie, eh?

After a worrying 12 hours (for me, at least) I’m delighted to say that Colleen has finally returned to Rupert and Murdoch.

I’m relieved

Now we can all relax and take advantage of some interesting online offers.

My friends at PhotoBox are offering a huge wedge of extra storage if you buy some prints this weekend (before 31st August) and enter the code AUGUST500MBSPACE at the checkout. There are other offers on this month, as usual, listed in their newsletter.

Jessops have relaunched their online photo site too in collaboration with Snapfish. Somewhat annoyingly you have to register to even see what’s on offer (although this doesn’t take long) but their opening offer gives you 40 free prints and I’m intrigued by the idea of ordering photos and then picking them up at your local shop the next day

If you try them out, let me know how you get on.

Today’s dawned damp and dreary - not the perfect day to test a cabriolet but the roof will be coming down anyway, whatever the salesperson says :-) A full report on the Copen will follow on my return …

And a good thing too

It’s fortunate that we in the UK do not have the lax “home defence” rules regarding gun ownership that exist (as I understand things) in the States.

Not good for me. No, it’s a good thing from the point of view of the pilot (and passenger) of the microlight with the registration number G-MWLL which has been “buzzing” Aaalburgh this evening, frightening the wildlife and well under what I’d have thought was a safe operating height.

Otherwise, they’d currently be picking bits of buckshot out of their fat arses.

Grrr.

The selfish sods scared off both Colin, Colleen and all their pals leaving poor Rupert and Murdoch to huddle together in the “nest” for protection. Poor things.

Offended I was

Kneel was walking - nay, strutting - around the orifice with a young lady in tow. As they came within earshot I overheard:

“This is Lionel. He’s the fount of all knowledge.”

“What, like Yoda?”

They approached my desk.

“This is NewGirl. She joins us next week. I was just telling her that you’re the fount of all knowledge.”

And you were just comparing me to Yoda.

She looked suitably contrite but really.

Music to my ears

The test drive’s confirmed for 11am on Saturday.

“Is there anything else I can help you with?” Rene asked when she rang to confirm.

Well, if you can just guarantee some fine weather for Saturday morning, please.

“Ah. I’ll do my best.”

I’ve been investigating the audio options (not being overly impressed with Daihatsu’s offering). Take some ooh and add a little aah and you’ve got audiophilic goodness at around £150.

Maybe I’ll keep the Scenic and just upgrade the audio :-)

DoveWatch and a new toy

First two from last night:

Two shots from this morning - I was hoping to catch sight of Rupert and Murdoch but it wasn’t to be.

As I mentioned yesterday my latest new toy has arrived. It’s the Kodak V610 and I had it with me at work today. Let’s see how it performed (on what’s been a grim and dreary day. As I was late-ish in to work I was parked up on the 5th floor of the car park - an excellent vantage point for a zoom test!

I’m rather pleased.
