Bah.

October 26th, 2006 Posted in Mundane musings

It’s that time of year, folks. Time for my satellite system to develop another fault.

Regular as clockwork, isn’t it?

When I rang them tonight I mentioned (more politely than I feel they deserved) my dissatisfaction with the reliability of Sky’s Sky+ boxes. In fact, I was quite clear as to the degree of my dissatisfaction. Strangely enough, there’ll be no fee for next week’s engineer visit - must remember to book Thursday off when I get in tomorrow. If the inevitably cheerful engineer tells me that there’s no way to fix the box, though, he’s going to be told to uninstall the whole bloody kit and caboodle - I’ll get myself a cheap set-top freeview box instead as it’s just not worth the hassle (or the subscriptions for that matter).

In fact, now that I think of it that’s not a bad idea.

I’ll be disappearing again this weekend - dropping off that chosen print to the Bishop coinciding (probably) with ExpoNG in Swanley. I say “probably” because I’m not 100% sure I can be bothered with the show. Probably will pay a visit, though.

I’m hoping for bat-friendly weather at the Bishop’s. Not convinced I’m going to be able to get any photos of bats but it’ll be fun trying.
