On second thoughts
Do you remember this post where I was looking for help identifying an old photo?
It’s taken three months to verify things but I can confirm that the slide
is NOT Tintagel.
Bollocks.
Any other suggestions?
[Update: Croila's put forward Dunottar Castle as the location and I think she's onto something there]
Tintagel Castle is, in fact, a bit of a disappointment - there’s so little of it remaining. It’s not the easiest location to reach, either - just look at those steps!
From Tintagel I headed south as far as Saint Agnes, looking for the definitive photo of Cornwall - a tin mine high on a rugged clifftop - at Wheal Coates. The photos are going to need a lot of work in PhotoShop, though. It seemed a lot brighter at the time and I’ve had to tweak these quite a lot to get them as “good” as this.

Do I have to pay back my prize for guessing Tintagel?
Lionel: Every penny, I fear.
Like the look of the new layout, but missing the Fisher Lion and also the layout is playing up on my small screen… one third of screen only for main posts and pictures.
Lionel: How small is your screen? I may sort out a lion for the front page (still there in the gallery, of course)
Well done with Alan Carr, he is a National Hero in this house. No dog ends apart from mine.
And I’m still “Mulbo” in your cast of commenters.
Lionel: Surely not. You and Mulbo the same person? No longer.
That’s about it!

Dunottar!
Love the new look, by the way. Very smart!
Lionel: I think you may be right. Wish you’d said this three months ago, though - I’d have called in on the Grand Tour

Now, I am a genius, but castles aren’t my forte being ‘merican, and all.

As I thought, definitely Dunottar: http://www.pbase.com/saltire/dunottar&page=all - second row, first left.
Been there loads when I was very wee and seem to remember it as being a fascinating place. And the NOISE! My god the noise of the seagulls and sea was deafening. But, the freshest air in the world.
