October 26th, 2007 | 2 Comments | Posted in Mundane musings

It’s an email from Dr. Tony Brown of the Gas and oil Consulting Group Ltd.

Please I know that this letter may come to you as a surprise based on the fact that I have not had any previous contact with you.We are looking for a trustworthy representative in the United kingdom that will aid as a link between us and our customers in the us for collecting and remitting our files, documents and payments. I would like to know if you are interested, respond only if you will like to work from home(part-time) and get paid weekly without leaving or affecting your present job.

All very interesting and it sounds perfect, given my current problems with getting out of bed in the morning. Obviously whether or not I respond will depend on the salary.

Per each transaction we will be paying you 130.00 pounds starling. And we do have up to 3 separate transaction per week.

Bloody hell! Nine stone four pounds? That’s one hell of a size for a starling!

(Apologies to Jonny B for “borrowing” his trademark style)

How did that happen?

I’m not 100% clear how this came about but I appear to have acquired a social life, of sorts.

Last night (Monday) was spent committing sociable suicide - two hours of badminton. Two fucking hours. Not fun. Well, it was fun but equally rather taxing on the old body.

Getting cramp in my leg while driving home afterwards was definitely no fun, though, and is not something I’d recommend.

Tonight, well, many, many years ago - back when I played role playing games regularly - I also dabbled in wargaming. For some reason - prime suspect is passing the wonderfully painted models in the local Games Workshop shop’s window - my interest has been piqued again and so, after a quick search online, I’ve paid a visit a local wargames club this evening. Lots of fun and friendly chaps (and a chapess) so I think I shall shell out a wadge of cash on an army just as soon as I can make a decision as to which one to choose.

Tomorrow evening is a more sedate affair but yes, I am out for the third evening in a row. This is to a “seminar” being run by my friendly chiropractors. To tell the truth, I’ve not got high hopes for this but it’s only an hour (I hope) and it’ll stop them nagging me with “Have you been to one of our seminars?” questions each time I visit.

I’m actually looking forwards to a quiet night in on Thursday - although the evening should really include a trip to the gym, unless I go there on the way home after the seminar tomorrow.

Looking ahead, I’ll be off to Swanley on Saturday for ExpoNG - my first model railway show in absolutely ages (I honestly can’t recall the last one I attended).

Busy, busy, busy.
