This is the life!
I have a busy day ahead of me.
I’ll be leaving shortly on my morning constitutional stroll to the Coffee Lounge and shall take in a visit to my barber on the return journey then I had to make a start on the Great Tidy-Up, go some web work and finally make may way into Norwhag for the official “Is it me or is there more room in the office” soirée (lashings of ginger beer all round).
Even though I’ll not be driving - I shall take the train for the first time since my first bout of manic-depression - I’ll be sticking to soft drinks. I think that’s wise as I haven’t actually had any alcohol this year and fear what might happen if I suddenly start drinking. Instead I shall wean myself slowly back onto booze over the coming weeks and months.
My plan to have a few weeks’ relaxation before going out to try and drum up some business is being scuppered by a number of expressions of interest having come to me in the past fortnight. I can’t really afford to tell them to bugger off and come back in July so have to follow them up on the off-chance that they really do have a budget for a website.
One of these has come from a fellow wargamer whose daughter produces textile accessories of some sort. He sent me an email praising the work I’d done on a couple of sub-sites for the club and asked if I could build her a website to promote her baggage. I replied with series of questions which would hopefully help them define what was required but it suddenly occurred to me that I may have been reading too much into the enquiry. I closed, therefore, by asking whether he really was asking me to build a site professionally or whether this was just a request for some friendly advice.
Hmmm. Either they’re giving my questions the careful consideration they deserve or I may have those few weeks free after all.
