Lifestyle choices - assistance required

July 1st, 2008 Posted in Interactive

As part of the long-overdue Great Tidy I found myself, earlier today, looking at a cupboard which contains (most of) three sets of crockery.

It occurred to me that this may well be slightly more crockery than I need.

Question 1: Do I dispose (sensibly) of two of the sets?

Question 1(a): Which one do I keep? The options are: the bright, cheerful, yellow/red set; the white with blue pattern set; the all-white but with raised fancy bits (the “for best” set).

Question 2: How many mugs do you have in your house? It would appear that I have 15,000 (or thereabouts). Is this too many?

Question 3: Does anyone (under the age of 70) use coffee cups any more?

Thank you.

    Em

    1. Yes
    1a. The cheerful set
    2. Around 10 but we always run out so stick with the 15,000
    3. Yes, but only for small, strong espresso coffees

    Thank you
    Andy

    Question 1: Yes!

Question 1(a): The bright, cheerful, yellow/red set.

Question 2: Less since the move, I was ruthless in throwing/donating the cupboardfuls of mugs/cups & saucers? 15,000 (or thereabouts) is far too many. Sell them on Ebay.

Question 3: You’ll need to define coffee cup before I can answer properly. Post some pictures, you’ll need to take them for Ebay anyway ;-)

Good gawd don’t get rid of any of them! You NEED three sets of crockery - after all, there are surely more than three scenarios for dining!

I’ve got loads and loads of mugs in my house. Including a very fetching one saying “Tea! Now! White with no sugar!” ;-)

As for coffee cups, hmmm, not sure as I don’t drink real coffee. What, are they espresso cups or something, wee totty ones?

  4. Alan Says:

    1. Yes (but see answer to 1a first).

1a. Doesn’t matter, whichever one you get rid of you’ll then break at least half the plates, side plates, cups and saucers of the one you’ve kept.

    2. 15, 000, you are a mere beginnner!

    3. Coffee cup? You mean there’s a difference between ones used for tea / other hot beverages?

Crikey! I’ve just noticed Daisy’s comment. Oh how I wish she’d reappear in the blogosphere properly ..!

God, is it too late? I agree with Croila, you should not get rid of any of them. Because as Alan mentioned, you will break half of whichever one you keep, and as she said, there is more than one dinner scenario. The mugs can all go. Or keep 8. Hmm. Better take a look at them. Post pictures!

CROCKERY! Ha ha. Also means nonsense bullshit here. I say out with all the crockery!!

Mr Bantock’s replies meet with my total agreement.
