It’s that time again.
Sine 7th January (I just checked) there’s been a steady stream of shite arriving from companies and websites as diverse as Hilton Hotels, seetickets.com, Canon, Phillips and Jimi, all mentioning the dreaded V word. I know only too well that it’s going to get worse for the next seven days.
What a load of commercialised pap. It’s that bloody Chaucer’s fault, apparently. I could rant on (and on) but find that even-star has already covered all the salient points.
Load of crap.

You can rant and rail against this all you like, but how about the rest of the crap we’re subjected to for the rest of the year? e.g. the media disappearing up its own origin with tales of who said a rude or offensive word and must now be censured.
Put all the frigging racist, sexist bigots to the sword if you like. Except… you [the media] don’t. You just drone on about it endlessly, filling up the column inches, as if it’s the most important thing in the world.
Then there’s “Gordon Brown said the ‘R’-word” and “Gordon Brown said the ‘D’-word” (BBC - would you believe it!). Just grow up, or fuck off!
Grr… It makes me puke.
