Misleading update

July 29th, 2008 Posted in Irritants, Retail therapy

Lyle is correct in that the “delayed” item in my order was a phone battery.

Since I wrote the last post I’ve still received nothing and my notification of a dispute via Paypal didn’t produce any response from the bastard in question (so I’ve escalated it to a claim). Hopefully Paypal will review what I wrote and give me my money back.

Let’s face it, if the order had been posted he’d have responded to that effect pretty darned quickly. Bastard.

A phone battery? I didn’t know people actually bought them nowadays – don’t they buy new phones instead?

  2. Lyle Says:

All hail the power of Google for figuring out the stock code. :)

As for this kind of thing, I personally trust eBay about as much as I trust politicians. Far easier/quicker to use Amazon. Better problem resolution than PayPal too.

  3. Lionel d'Lion Says:

Actually it was a supposedly proper shop who offer Paypal as a payment option rather than eBay.

My escalating it to a proper claim generated a response at 11:06 today – an email saying “Despatched”.

Of course I won’t be at home until Saturday to see whether they are merely continuing the saga of being lying bastard(s). On the plus side it’ll keep the evil lying bastard waiting to see whether I withdraw the claim or not.

  4. The Bishop Says:

Huh. You clearly missed the lemon reference… Lyle used the same method as myself to discover it was a battery.
Still think Croila has the right idea – use the resources and leave the planet to the cockroaches!
